WHO AM I?

“In conventional terms, I have served as the Executive Director of the American Academy of Religion, the President of Chicago Theological Seminary, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Vanderbilt University Divinity School, a systems analyst on the Hubble Space Telescope, a high school math teacher, a professor, a consultant, a coach, a facilitator, and an adviser.

In human terms, I am a student of life, an author, a parent, a way finder, a contrarian, a rebel, a catalyst, a guide, an explorer, a seeker, and a graduate from the school of hard knocks.

Now I am bringing over 25 years of leadership experience and my insatiable curiosity to help organizations and individuals address challenges and reach possibilities, even beyond their wildest dreams.”

RECENT CASES

  • Let’s face it, COVID made every organization rethink their business model. We helped the world’s preeminent-in-its-field learned society reimagine its work for the post-pandemic world. In addition to recommendations around a new organizational structure and communications launch plans, we helped them explore new service offerings and new ways to meet their mission.

  • All companies are trying to navigate the landscape of DEI. The goal is clear, but the path there is not. We facilitated large-group and small-group workshops addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating spaces for individual and group transformation that seemed impossible at the outset.

  • Winning a grant is one thing, delivering on your proposal is another. We helped a national organization create a start-up, implementation strategy and a tactical plan for a new program funded by a grant.

  • We supported a new executive as they began their work – helping them create a roadmap, assisting them with board relations, nurturing donor relationships, leveraging networks, addressing staffing challenges, and right-sizing their budgets – helping them to flourish in their new leadership role.
